The Farmers Weekly Interview Vending by JSR.

Last week, I had an interview with Suzie Horne from Farmers Weekly. She was gathering information for an article about the Farm Vending Industry in the UK. Being the first to introduce locker vending to the UK and having supplied farmers with vending machines for over 8 years, she was interested in learning about our company’s origins and our insights into the Farm Vending industry. The article, titled ‘Vending Machines Provide Secure Added-Value Farmgate Sales for British Farmers’, was released on the 28th of July.

In Suzie’s article, she discusses various topics covered during our phone conversation. We talked about the differences between our Roesler and Lockblox locker vending machines. I explained that the Roesler is a basic standard model, while the Lockblox is a software-driven remote monitoring vending system. We also talked about how our family business originally started in egg production and how we introduced the first locker vending machine in the UK to sell our own free-range eggs. We discussed our own vending machine in Derbyshire has over 100 lockers selling eggs and also functions as our Vending Showroom, where we display our vending technology to potential customers. Suzie was also interested in learning about the key components necessary to ensure a successful and busy vending machine for the farmer. After 8 years of installations and selling over 100 machines, we were able to identify and share with Suzie the key components that all our most successful customers implement to ensure a busy, high-earning vending machine.

Suzie’s digging didn’t stop there. The Farmers Weekly article also features three case studies from farms that operate their own farm vending machines, including one from one of our longest-standing customers, Thorney Bank Farm Shop. These case studies provide fascinating insights into the products sold in the vending machines and the responsibilities involved in running a farm vending machine.

The Farmers Weekly article offers an interesting read for its subscribers who have noticed our vending machines on farms and support farmers diversifying by selling their own goods directly to consumers. The article will provide value and an engaging read for farmers considering investing in a farm vending machine.
