New Tenants at Bettys Farm!

Bettys Vending Farm Shop

Were exited to announce as of the 1st of Jan this year we have new tenants here at Betty’s farm.  JSR Services Ltd a family run poultry business from central Scotland, has taken over the whole site here at Bettys.  Vending by JSR, who installed the vending machine for Betty’s farm shop, is run by Stuart Retson, joint managing director of JSR Services. Along with his Brother Andrew and their father John they are delighted they can enhance two parts of their business by taking over Betty’s Farm.

The egg production side of the business will stay exactly the same at Betty’s, producing the greatest tasting eggs to the highest bird welfare standards.  The JSR Services team have been in egg production for over 28 years and are dedicated to working towards one of the first carbon neutral egg laying sites in the UK.  With the renewables on site and their planned planting of trees in the range they see Betty’s as a great platform to achieve this.

Betty’s Farm Shop will be slightly different to what it was before.  Not in appearance or functionality, (it will still be the cutting-edge automated retail facility), but it will be unattended, and there will be a dramatically reduced product range and easier customer user experience.  Vending by JSR will be using the shop as a show room to show case all their world leading design and software to potential customers.  Along with this they are very keen to have it as a working shop to supply local people with quality fresh local produce at a quality price.  They will start off with of course Betty’s own Beyond Free Range eggs and a selection of local grown vegetables.  There will be veg boxes available but also a selection of individual veg.  In the chilled machine they will start with local bacon and sausages and as the seasons change there will be some seasonal produce and fruits from time to time.   Stuart said “We will be keen to get locals to comment on our socials and let us know what they would like from the shop, we can then build the product range to suit.  We are not looking to have high end shop, as the main benefit to our business is to have a working show room in central England, however we would also like to run it as a local shop delivering what the locals want”.

Exiting times ahead for all of the Betty’s staff and we are delighted to now be working with the JSR Services Ltd team.  There will be veg in the machine from next week and the coffee machine is back on so please pop in and leave us your thoughts on what you would like from the shop.
