Vending by JSR’s Installation in the North Isle of Uist. Perhaps our furthest north instal yet!!
The Dunes Cabin, located in the north of the Isle of Uist, ordered a LockBlox vending machine to open their own farm shop. We were tasked with delivering and installing the machine to their remote location.
Day 1 –
We had an early start in the morning as we loaded the vending machines onto the rental truck. After securing them properly, we began our 5-hour drive to the ferry in Skye. The long journey, followed by a several hour ferry ride, ended at the beautiful Isle of North Uist. We then drove a short distance to our customer’s location, The Dunes Cabin. We met with their team who helped to unload the vending machines from the truck and positioned them correctly in the shop building. Despite the long day and travel, we were greeted by fantastic weather and stunning highland views, which made the trip worthwhile.
Day 2 –
A less exciting and more technical day spent wiring the machines, installing vending software, and performing tests and tweaks to ensure their multi-vend setup communicated with the control screen and payment terminal.
Day 3 –
With everything in place and tested, day 3 was for training The Dunes Cabin team on the vending web, letting them get their hands on their new machine and going through any questions they had.
The installation was a 508-mile round trip done over 3 days. It is a long way, but we have a customer who is not ready to stock their vending machine and sell produce to customers fully automated. When you are based in such a beautiful part of the world, our technicians will be arguing over who gets to come back and perform this yearly service. Best of luck with the shop guys
